The 2-18 all-through school provides education for over one thousand children and young people from nursery to S6. North Inch Community Campus will provide a new 'all-through' nursery, primary and secondary school to replace St Columba's RC High School and St John's RC Nursery and Primary School on the current and extended St Columba's site.

The new school will be named St John's Academy and will have the following pupil capacities:

  • Nursery: 50 morning and 50 afternoon places
  • Primary: 418
  • Secondary: 650 

Community provision on site will comprise meeting rooms, community library, conference suite, art, design and craft rooms, lecture theatre, assembly hall with cinema-style projection facilities, sports halls, football pitch, dance studio, fitness suite, music rooms and recording studio all-weather sports pitch and drama studios. Wraparound and out-of-school care will also be provided. The campus will be operational Monday to Friday between 7am and 10pm and between 8am and 5pm at weekends.

The Campus Leader will be appointed from October 2009, shadowing the current Headteachers at St Columba's High School and St John's Primary School before taking up full leadership responsibilities for St John's Academy in January 2010.

The campus will be handed over to the Council in two stages; the first stage will be the secondary school on 29/03/2010 and the second the primary school on 31/10/2011.
