Job overview

King Edward's School is seeking to appoint a Teacher of Physics on either a part-time or full-time basis, for a fixed period of two terms.

The person appointed will have excellent subject knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject. They will teach physics throughout the School at all levels up to International Baccalaureate Diploma. They may also be required to teach Combined Science to Year 7. Interest in contributing to the department’s activities would be an advantage. Although experience of the IB system would be beneficial for any candidate applying for this position it is not a prerequisite and IB training will be offered to the successful candidate. The physics content itself is similar to that in current A-levels.

King Edward’s is one of the most interesting, diverse and intellectually ambitious independent schools in the country, situated in a green ‘oasis’ close to the heart of England’s second city; both the school and the city are at an exciting stage of development.

This post affords an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to launch a career or for a more experienced teacher to join an exceptional team.

The school teaches iGCSE and the International Baccalaureate Diploma (although IB experience is not essential for this post), and the salary scale is significantly above the state sector.

Closing date: Midday on Friday, 13 October 2017
Interview date: Wednesday, 18 October 2017
