The Governors wish to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated teacher who will join a dynamic and committed department to teach science across key stages 3 and 4, as well as physics at key stage 5. We are looking for a teacher who can make a significant contribution to this strong and successful department. The science department is extremely well resourced, with state of the art facilities and a suite of new laboratories. At GCSE, pupils study separate science and combined science and the sciences are extremely popular options in the 6th Form with many pupils going on to study science related courses at university. As a top performing department within the College and country, pupils strive to succeed at the highest levels; in 2018, 96% of all science exams were awarded grades 9 – 4 and 64% were awarded grades 9 – 7. A total of 84 grade 9s were awarded across the sciences and our value added is in the top 1% of the country. Our A Level pass rate stands at 100% and 67% of exams achieved A*-B grades.
