The School is designated as having a religious character and upholds Christian principles embodied in our motto "Love as Brethren".  Religious Education is a compulsory part of the School curriculum.

We value tradition, innovation and independence.  We maintain high standards of discipline and reward effort, attainment and creativity.  These values are nurtured both through the School's broad and balanced curriculum and through its exceptionally wide range of extra-curricular activities.  We excel in the fields of Music and Drama and have been awarded Sportsmark Gold for Excellence in Sport and the Artsmark for excellence in the Performing Arts.  We are national finalists in 14 different sports.  Nearly half of our pupils play musical instruments and participate in the 24 different orchestras, bands and ensembles.  Our School drama and musical productions are of professional standard.

The School enjoys the active support of its parent Livery Company, the Worshipful Company of Coopers, through the Coopers' Company and Coborn Educational Foundation.
