Skipton Girls’ High School, co-founder of Northern Star Academies Trust, are seeking to recruit an outstanding Teacher of Physics to join our strong, vibrant staff team.
About Skipton Girls’ High School
We provide an excellent and challenging education, which seeks to enable all students to make maximum progress in their learning and gain a great sense of personal development and achievement. We strongly believe in personalisation and encouraging enquiring minds. The school highly values the importance of developing a community environment in which mutual respect and individual talents are nurtured.
As a Physics Teacher you will be fully supported by an experienced team of science teachers and technicians who share a vision of effective teaching and learning founded on collaborative planning, assessment and instruction, and who help each other to continually improve practice. We have an open-door culture and reflective ethos where we use lesson study to learn from each other all the time.
We are looking for an ambitious and inspiring teacher to uphold our high quality of teaching. You will be able to demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of teaching, learning and personalisation strategies and be responsible for maintaining the highest quality of monitoring and evaluating whilst improving the standard of achievement for all students. You will be confident in your abilities to teach effectively across all Key Stages (3, 4 and Post 16) and a specialism in Physics is essential. You will be adept in creating a supportive, encouraging and safe learning environment for students of all diverse backgrounds. We welcome applications from NQTs as well as experienced teachers.
This is a great opportunity to join a growing and thriving Multi-Academy Trust and a highly experienced Teaching School Alliance (Northern Lights TSA) and SCITT to develop your career in a nationally recognised school of excellence.
Physics graduates who completed their teacher training after 2015 may also be eligible for a DFE Physics retention grant to £2000 per year after tax and reimbursement for student loan repayment during employment in Craven district schools.
