Ewell Castle is a thriving, independent school located in Ewell Village, one mile outside Epsom, in leafy Surrey. The school is co-educational from Nursery to Sixth Form and enjoys small classes, averaging approximately fifteen over the whole School. Ewell Castle has an excellent reputation for its pastoral care of pupils and enjoys a vibrant community spirit including regular events for staff, parents and friends of the School.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic graduate as Teacher of Physics (for September 2019) to join a highly successful and established department, to teach across the 11-18 age range. The Science department enjoys 5 well resourced laboratories including interactive whiteboards and other technologies such as data loggers. Currently the department consists of six full time members of teaching staff and two experienced Science Technicians.
A regular trip to CERN is organised for pupils in Years 11-13 and they have the opportunity to attend a variety of day conferences including Physics in Action Days and the annual Physics Workshop at Royal Holloway. We also run a weekly STEM club for pupils in Years 7-9. The Science Department takes a lead role in running the School’s STEM week which coincides with the British Science Week. We are also involved with the CREST Award schemes.
