Are you a Politics teacher with a genuine passion for academic challenge, debate and current affairs? Oakham School is looking for an outstanding and enthusiastic Teacher of Politics to join a thriving and highly collaborative department with an excellent track record of academic success and a commitment to fostering a love of the subject.
The successful candidate will teach A Level Politics (Edexcel), with opportunities to contribute to IB Global Politics and GCSE Citizenship Studies (OCR), depending on experience and interest. We welcome applications from experienced teachers, Early Career Teachers and trainees alike. Above all, we are looking for an individual with a strong passion for Politics, excellent classroom practice, and the ability to inspire and challenge pupils to think critically and engage confidently with the world around them.
Beyond the classroom, you will play a full part in the life of the School through a tutor role and involvement in our extensive co-curricular and extra-curricular programme. You will join a supportive and collegiate staff community that values initiative, professional growth and collaboration. We are open to considering any second subject and can offer genuine flexibility to shape the role around the successful candidate's interests, expertise and aspirations.

Oakham is a vibrant, fully co-educational boarding and day school for 10–18 year olds.

Over many years, the School has not only been incredibly successful academically, but it is also recognised nationally for its outstanding achievements in sport, music, drama and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme.
The School has benefited from significant investment in recent years. The latest improvements include a new classroom block for the Humanities, a stunning state-of-the-art Faculty of Social Sciences, fantastic Science facilities, a purpose-built Medical and Pastoral Centre and a major redevelopment of the Sports Centre.
The School’s location close to Rutland Water, in the heart of rural England, means our pupils and staff are able to enjoy the safety of living and working in a beautifully green campus just a few minutes’ walk from Oakham’s historic town centre and amenities. At the same time Oakham’s excellent road and rail links mean that London, Birmingham and Cambridge are all within easy reach.
