Beaconsfield High School, an outstanding girls’ grammar school, has a rare opportunity for an energetic, highly motivated Teacher of Psychology with the vision and ambition to inspire and enthuse our students.
The Psychology department is continuing to grow and is a very a popular A Level choice with nearly 100 sixth form students overall. The department provides exciting learning opportunities for our students. We are committed to their academic success and to the development of their enthusiasm for Psychology. We offer a range of trips and speakers and are always welcome to exciting new ideas. There are currently three year 12 and two year 13 classes following the AQA syllabus. Around a dozen students each year go onto study Psychology at university. In the last few years, A Level results have been around 42% A*/A and 83% A* - B.
A Teacher of Psychology will take responsibility for the teaching of the subject and will help us to broaden the experiences for our students. We are open to ideas that inspire and help our students to enjoy the subjects as much as possible. We want to recruit someone who puts students first, proactively focuses on the development, sharing and monitoring of best practice to help across the school so that our students have the best educational opportunities and positive school experience. This is in line with our vision of being a “Happy, high achieving learning community”
