We are looking for a talented teacher of psychology to join the Social Sciences team.
The Bishop of Llandaff is an 11-18 co-educational Church-in-Wales High School. Located in the heart of Llandaff, the school is heavily oversubscribed and students attend from all over the city and in the surrounding authorities. Standards at the school are very high. In 2018, the school achieved outstanding examination results at both GCSE and A Level. At GCSE, 92% of students gained 5 or more A*-C grades at GCSE, with 82% including English Language and mathematics; 43% of students achieved 5 or more A*-A grades, while more than a third of students achieved 9 or more A*-A grades. The pass rate at A Level was 99%, with 86% gaining A*-C and 68% at A*-B and 34% of all grades at A*-A. However, the school is more than just about examination outcomes. Students take part in a broad range of activities that help them become "well-rounded" and our strong Christian ethos helps shape our students to become positive role models in our society. It genuinely is a happy place to learn and work!
There is some flexibility with the role in that 36/52 (FTE) periods are allocated to the teaching of psychology. An applicant who would be able to offer another subject eg. sociology, religious education or Welsh Baccalaureate would enable the role to be undertaken on a full-time basis. However, we would equally welcome applicants who wish to undertake the role on a part-time basis. This would be over 4 days per week (0.8 FTE).
Please download our application pack for more details. Also, we welcome potential applicants to come and see us in action. We are open to visitors every
day!Closing date for applications: 23rd November 2018 at 12 noon.
