We are seeking an outstanding and dedicated teacher of RE, philosophy & ethics
The King John School in Benfleet is a heavily oversubscribed 11-18 mixed comprehensive of over 2000 students, of which approximately 420 are in the sixth form. Based on 2017 results as a school our Progress 8 measure places us in the top 25% of the country and over 76% of our students achieved a standard pass in English and mathematics at GCSE (Grade 4 or above) and we are recognised by the Department for Education for our proactive promotion of the English Baccalaureate within our curriculum.
Our A-level results have been exemplary, with over 50% of year 13 students gaining A* - B grades in all of their subjects. The school enjoys an excellent reputation, having received a letter from the Director of Education in September 2017 commending the school on the ‘fantastic’ results that year. The school has also been graded at the end of September 2013 as ‘Outstanding’ across all key areas.
