In anticipation of a maternity leave a committed and enthusiastic teacher is required to join the Cymru Ewrop a’r Byd Faculty, which consists of history, geography, religious education, Welsh and modern foreign languages, a dedicated and successful team within this popular, oversubscribed 11-18 comprehensive school. The appointee will teach religious studies across the age and ability range up to GCSE level. The ability to contribute to the teaching of other Humanities subjects would be a distinct advantage.
The school is situated in an attractive area close to the border, just 6 miles from Chester and within easy reach of the North Wales coast, Liverpool and Manchester. In November 2009 the school was inspected and Estyn judged the school to be ‘good’ with ‘excellent prospects for continued improvement’. Inspectors commented that “senior managers have high expectations of staff and pupils” and “teachers and managers provide a high level of care”.
