The Governors seek to appoint a well-qualified, innovative and committed temporary teacher of Religious Studies with effect from January 2019. This appointment will be a temporary, fixed term contract to cover the maternity leave of the substantive post holder. Applications from NQT's are welcome.
Bury Church of England High School is a heavily oversubscribed, historic, high achieving, Church of England school. We are situated on the edge of the West Pennine moors with easy access to both stunning countryside and the vibrant city life of Manchester.
You will be expected to motivate and excite pupils so that they can learn effectively and achieve high standards. You will be supported through our teaching school network, Ripley Teaching School Alliance, and by a staff committed to growing outstanding professionals.
You must have a degree in Religious Studies or related discipline.
You will be expected to teach the full ability range across Key Stage 3 and 4 and have a good understanding of the application of ICT skills in teaching Religious Studies.
We would welcome applications from both experienced teachers and those who were newly qualified in September 2018.
You must actively promote the Christian ethos and contribute to building the caring Christian community of the school.

Bury Church of England High School is a successful and vibrant Church of England Academy, part of the Bishop Fraser Trust. We are an 11-16 school with 810 places and are significantly over subscribed. The school was established in 1748 and we are proud to have served the Bury and wider community for over 250 years. We joined the Bishop Fraser Trust on 1 January 2022.
