Currie Community High School is a non-denominational secondary school which serves the area of south west Edinburgh. It draws most of its students from Currie, Juniper Green and Nether Currie primary schools. Almost all learners leave to a positive destination. The catchment area comprises predominantly suburban / owner occupied with a small rural element. The school roll currently stands at 727 of whom 20% attend as a result of parental placing requests.
The school’s Vision Statement is “Don’t limit your challenges, challenge your limits” with the values of confidence, respect, initiative, unity, responsibility and equality underpinning this vision.
An enthusiastic individual is required to take on the role of Teacher of RMPS. A range of skills and qualities are essential such as good communication and organisational skills, while being able to demonstrate initiative, to the benefit of students and staff.
Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
This post is considered regulated work with vulnerable children and/or Protected Adults under the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by City of Edinburgh Council.

Currie Community High School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Currie, Edinburgh. It is a community state school. The school website identifies a school roll of 623 secondary and sixth form students between the ages of 12-18 studying at the school.
Currie Community High School has an extensive history. Currie Primary School was the only level of school in the area until 1961, when secondary status was granted. Currie High School as it was then known moved to its current site between 1965 and 1966, going under refurbishment in 1995. A 1997 campaign resulted in the school gaining the Community High School status it holds today.
