We want to hear from you if you are an inspirational teacher who has a passion for seeing young people succeed. This is a fantastic opportunity if you are either an NQT looking for your first qualified teaching role or a more experienced teacher. You will work across two schools (Kings of Wessex Academy and Hugh Sexey Church of England Middle School). Both are exceptional Academies that provide a world class education for all students. You will have an opportunity to teach across KS3 – KS5. Kings has one of the top performing science facilities in Somerset and Science is extremely popular at A Level, with many students gaining places to further their studies at University.

The successful applicant will join a supportive, dynamic, and progressive team. NQTs can expect an outstanding supportive programme with staff dedicated to support your success.

Candidates will need to demonstrate that they:

  • are an outstanding teacher (or as an NQT, aspiring to be outstanding)
  • have excellent subject knowledge, and the ability to consistently teach inspirational lessons
  • have good organisational and communication skills
  • can be innovative, creative, enthusiastic – able to deliver results
  • have the ability and willingness to make a broader contribution to the life of the Academy

Both Academies are based in beautiful Somerset villages, close to Bristol.

About The Kings of Wessex Academy

The Kings of Wessex Academy is a mixed, Church of England academy secondary school and sixth form for pupils aged 13-18, located in Cheddar, Somerset. It was founded in 1976, and was formerly known as The Kings of Wessex School before converting to an academy in 2011. The school has approximately 1,200 pupils.

Kings of Wessex is part of the Wessex Learning Trust, a group of eight academies in the Cheddar Valley.
