A full-time teacher of science (chemistry) is required for September 2021 to teach Year 9 and GCSE chemistry, with a shared responsibility for Year 7 and 8 general science. There may also be the opportunity to teach A-level for the right candidate. This is a new role within the department and is in response to an increase in pupil numbers.
Claremont Fan Court has a strong science tradition and standards in this department are high; GCSE chemistry achieved 80% A* to A grades last summer. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate an effective teaching style, have a sound knowledge of general science, and have a strong degree in the chemical sciences.
The role could suit an NQT for whom first class support will be given or an experienced teacher looking for a new challenge. A willingness to contribute to the co-curricular and pastoral life of the school is essential.
In return you can expect all the benefits of a thriving independent school: a competitive and progressive salary, pension, professional development, laptop, cycle scheme, lunches in term time, free parking and single accommodation on site may be available or a means tested rent subsidy.
“The quality of the pupils academic and other achievements is excellent” (ISI inspection January 2017)
Further details of the role and how to apply can be found under the ‘Work with Us’ tab at www.claremont-school.co.uk or by calling HR on 01372 473720.
