Values and vision

Education at Neston High School is founded on the core values of aspiration, community and kindness, with the belief that all young people have the right to an exceptional education, both within the classroom and beyond. At Neston, we believe in comprehensive education as the very best way to educate children; and a school like Neston, embedded in the heart of the community, is one of the best examples of a school, where children from a range of backgrounds, and with varying abilities, can be confident in the belief they can be themselves and achieve their very best.

At Neston, we place our students at the heart of all that we do and our expert understanding imbues us with the ability to ensure all of our young people will reach their true potential. Our students achieve excellent outcomes; they are the creative thinkers and problem-solvers of the future. They leave Neston as fine young adults with the world at their feet.

Neston High School is committed to tracking its students’ academic progress with half-termly reports, which look at their levels of attainment for each subject. It prides itself on having a strong pastoral system, based around five houses and year groups, which help to support, nurture and care for students’ wellbeing.

The secondary school expects the highest standards of behaviour and mutual respect. It believes that self-discipline and a creative approach to learning will help students to fulfil their dreams and ambitions. Teachers recognise that the role of parents is crucial in helping to support students.

Ofsted report

“Teachers expect a high level of effort from students and plan their lessons so students have to find out information for themselves and work things out with the minimum of help from teachers. Teaching is especially good in the sixth form. Students behave well in lessons and around school. They feel safe in school. The school helps them to develop good communication skills and follow courses that are well-matched to their talents and ambitions so they are well-prepared for the future.”
