Teacher of Science (KS4 Coordinator).

Tes is currently supporting a friendly and supportive Secondary Academy, based in Worsley, Manchester. The school is looking to add a Teacher of Science to its progressive and supportive Science Department ideally starting in January 2022.

The role will include teaching and coordinating the delivery of Science at KS3, GCSE across year groups 7 to 11 with KS4 coordination TLR on offer also. You will support the Head of Science to enhance provision and will get the chance to get involved with exciting project work throughout the year. Project work will include revising schemes of work and ensuring the curriculum is engaging to all learners alongside projects that support student attainment, well-being and engagement within the wider school. You’ll also lead by example, supporting learners to achieve to the best of their ability and you’ll enjoy that great feeling when your learners achieve grades beyond their dreams.

"They are an 11-16 Academy with 1500 students. They have a strong sense of community and common goals which all their students, staff and parents share. They have high expectations for both their students and themselves and know the importance of setting goals that are meaningful to each individual. Every student is unique, and they nurture and fulfil the potential in each of them. They provide opportunities that will help students expand their knowledge and skills, whilst making excellent progress.

They also have a great range of extra-curricular opportunities such as an excellent Combined Cadets Force, Dance and PE clubs, MFL clubs and a Jazz band. These, along with their drama productions and many trips, are what makes our community so vibrant.  The Gardening club won a £2,000 grant from the RHS last year and have built a beautiful sensory garden for all to enjoy.  They are always looking for new ways to develop all learners outside the classroom and want our students to become well-rounded individuals, prepared for future life."

We are looking for an outstanding Teacher of Science to join their good and rapidly improving Academy.  There is a possibility for a TLR to be added to this role for the right candidate (to lead KS4 Coordination of Science). ”

The school expects:

• A UK teaching qualification such as PGCE/PGDE, SCITT, BEd or MEd with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• A relevant Science Degree or a related subject

• Experience in delivering Science at GCSE level, pushing and engaging learners to progress within the subject

• A love and passion for education
