Thank you for your interest in the post of Teacher of Science at The Elmgreen School. The purpose of this role is to provide high quality teaching and learning, achievement and engagement of students in line with our vision and ethos. 

Permanent and 1 Year Contracts available.

Key Responsibilities      

  • To plan and deliver effective lessons, ensuring curriculum coverage, continuity and progression for all students   
  • to help develop and implement policies and practices for Science which reflect the school’s commitment to high achievement and effective teaching and learning   
  • to support the Head of Science in the development of appropriate syllabi, assessment, teaching and learning strategies and resources   
  • to support in monitoring the progress made towards achieving targets for Science.

The Elmgreen School became part of the Dunraven Educational Trust in September 2021, and together we are focused on developing an exciting, dynamic and progressive community, focused on improving the outcomes for children and their families.

Dunraven Educational Trust (DET) was established in 2016. It now incorporates Dunraven’s All-Through School, Goldfinch Primary, The Elmgreen School, Rosendale Primary School and Van Gogh Primary. About The Elmgreen School

The Elmgreen School is a unique 11-18 secondary school. It is a non denominational mixed school which opened to its first cohort of year 7 students in September 2007.   The secondary Hearing Impaired Unit is co-located within the school. We will reach our full complement of 1100 students in 2014 which will include a 200 place sixth form. The school moved to its inspirational new building in September 2009.

The school is non selective and provides a creative and innovative curriculum, encouraging the highest standards of teaching and learning within an ethos of mutual respect, harmony and achievement.
