TEACHER OF SCIENCE 

Maternity Leave Cover (may become permanent)

Suitable for NQTs and Experienced Teachers

 Full Time (1.0 fte) - Teachers Pay Scale - Required from 1st September 2021 to 20th July 2022

We wish to appoint a motivated and inspiring Teacher of Science to join our innovative Science Department to teach during a period of Maternity Leave.  This role may become a permanent position within school.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach across all key stages. 

We welcome applications from professional, enthusiastic and effective NQTs and experienced teachers, who are keen to join our high performing team at Ulverston Victoria High School.   An appropriate induction programme is available for all NQTs.  

The successful candidate will share our passion for education and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and will be clearly in tune with our values and our ethos of “children first” and be totally committed to providing a deep and rewarding experience in science for all our students regardless of their academic ability.

This is a great opportunity for an exceptional and vibrant practitioner to join and contribute to a high-performing department.  GCSE Science results for progress have consistently been in the top 20% of the country across both combined science and separate science. A-level numbers are healthy and science is a very popular choice with in the Sixth Form.  During the 2018 Ofsted inspection, the inspectors took time to note in their report that ’students make exceptional progress in science’.
