Teacher of Science

The Hundred of Hoo AcademyMedway

We have a unique opportunity to join a highly effective, high performing Science Department at The Hundred of Hoo Academy. Vacancies in this team are rare, as colleagues thrive in an atmosphere rich in collaboration and support. This high performing team are often drivers to whole Academy improvement. We are looking for talented and passionate Teacher of Science who truly wishes to inspire our pupils. Joining The Hundred of Hoo Academy will enable you to work with like-minded colleagues who share your goals and ambitions. Our successful candidate will join us from September 2021 and will be able to take advantage of a variety of professional development opportunities within the academy and across the wider Trust. Whether you are relatively new to the teaching profession or experienced, you will contribute to leading and shaping the vision and future of our school and wider organisation.

So what makes us different at The Hundred of Hoo Academy?  It is how we translate our culture, vision and values into every action every day, where you can see staff and pupils role modelling high expectations.  We want our teachers to concentrate on what they do best – teach.  To achieve this we have clear, consistent behaviour systems and every teacher has their own classroom.  Our teachers plan the curriculum together allowing them to share expertise as well as the workload.  We also provide an array of professional development programmes for our staff including NQTs, middle and senior leader programmes.

Working with our academy: In September 2011, The Hundred of Hoo converted to Academy status and just one year later, Ofsted judged the academy as “good with outstanding features”, recognising the relentless focus and ambition that we have.  In September 2015 the academy welcomed its first Reception class thereby extending its age range to 4-year-old children. This exciting provision demonstrates the Academy’s sense of ambition to serve the community where pupils’ academic journey represents a cradle to university principle.

We are delighted to announce that following a recent Ofsted inspection in July 2018 the academy has been judged 'Good' with 'Outstanding' features in terms of our Early Years provision and effectiveness of Leadership and Management.
