Job overview

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of Science at Bristnall Hall Academy.

The ideal candidate will be an ambitious professional with the ability to teach across the key stages, and will join an academy which is dynamic and inspiring; creating a culture of outstanding success amongst our students. As a key member of the team, you will play a lead role in curriculum development alongside progressing and enhancing the learning of students within the academy and beyond. We are keen to secure a high calibre teacher who can make a telling contribution to our forward looking team.

You will be part of a mutually supportive Science team which has outstanding leadership within it; there is a very strong commitment to improving standards. The department has seen excellent progress results in recent years as well as outstanding attainment in the separate sciences. The appointed candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues and will be supported by our teaching and learning team including Lead Practitioners, one of whom is a scientist.  The successful candidate will be fully supported throughout our bespoke CPD programme in order to enhance career development. 

The department has modern labs, many of which have been refurbished recently. Furthermore, the department benefits from all the latest resources to support you in your teaching. 

Bristnall Hall Academy is an 11-18, unique community school with an extensive offering supported by a strong reputation for partnerships and inclusivity. Our results have improved year on year since 2014 and our 2017 Progress 8 score places us as one of the highest performing in the West Midlands. Progress was strong again in 2018.
