Glyn School is seeking to appoint an innovative and dynamic Teacher of Social Sciences to join our hugely popular and successful Social Sciences faculty. 

Social Sciences is a popular option at A Level, with many students choosing to study further at university.  The Social Science Faculty is made up of a large multi-discipline team with most members of staff able to teach multiple subjects within the Faculty. Our student numbers are at a record high making us the largest faculty in the school. The subjects currently offered are Business Studies, Economics, Law, Psychology and Sociology. Due to an ever increasing cohort of KS4 and KS5 students interested in taking Social Sciences subjects, we are keen to appoint an individual with the ability to teach Sociology and Law. This position would also be of interest to a candidate who has experience of delivering Government and Politics due to the fact that the first year of A-level content for Law is almost entirely government and politics based. The Law department is incredibly successful with 90% of students achieving A*-C. Due to the fact that resourcing is in place and the presence of an established Faculty team, this would be an excellent opportunity to develop your teaching practice in a supportive environment.

The successful candidate will have excellent subject knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of teaching Social Sciences.  If you have high expectations of students in terms of learning and achievement and you have enthusiasm for developing new approaches to learning and teaching, then this position could be for you. We would accept applications from candidates able to offer any combination of Social Sciences subjects; Business Studies, Economics, Law, Psychology and Sociology or Government and Politics.

Glyn is ideally situated just ten minutes’ walk from both Ewell East and Ewell West stations, both of which are approximately 20 minutes from Clapham Junction and within Zone 6.
