Contract type: Full Time
Salary: Inner London - MPS or UPS
Contract term: Permanent
Suitable for NQTs: Yes

Plumstead Manor is a thriving and rapidly improving school with its own Sixth Form, dedicated to providing a world-class education to the young people and families of Royal Greenwich. We have a long pedigree in promoting excellence, justice and success for young women and we look forward to extending this to young men as we welcome a mixed intake in to Year 7 from September 2018.

Our goal is to inspire and nurture young people of all abilities and backgrounds to develop a love of learning which will sustain them through their lives. It is this which will successfully see them into further education and the fulfilling career of their choice. We believe that high quality teaching, in a safe, friendly and harmonious community, is the key to unlocking the potential that all our young people have, so that they can go on to change the world for the better.

We are seeking inspiring and well qualified teachers who share our vision and our commitment both to high aspirations for academic scholarship alongside high expectations for behaviour and personal development.

If you have a passion for teaching Sociology along with the ability to maintain good standards of behaviour for learning, we can offer you dynamic and enthusiastic students, the opportunity to be part of a strong and supportive team, high quality professional development and a whole school commitment to excellence and justice in a successful and harmonious community.

You will be part of our well qualified and enthusiastic Humanities team who teach successfully across the Key stages. The Humanities Faculty teaches history, geography and RE at KS3, 4 and 5, and Sociology is offered in KS5 among other subjects such as Politics and Economics. You will need to have a specialism in sociology but will be expected to teach other subjects in Key Stage 3.

We pride ourselves on helping our students to gain a holistic understanding of the world and to develop the skills essential to critically assessing evidence and construct strong arguments. You will actively contribute to the delivery of a curriculum which provides memorable experiences and opportunities for high quality learning and wider personal development.

We can offer you the opportunity to join a dedicated and successful team, supportive senior management and good professional development.

This role would suit an experienced teacher or a NQT. We welcome and support NQTs with an excellent NQT programme, tailored to individual needs, where you will be supported by a mentor. Support and training is continued after the first year of teaching.

To apply, please visit www.plumsteadmanor.com and apply online. Alternatively, contact the HR Team on 020 3260 3123 or email: jobs@plumsteadmanor.com quoting ref: 674/ST/TES.

Closing date: Friday, 20th April 2018 at noon.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. References will automatically be requested for all shortlisted applicants prior to interview. The successful applicant will be required to be DBS checked prior to taking up post.
