Job overview

We are looking for a successful Teacher of Spanish with the initiative, drive and determination to teach KS3 and KS4 for 12 months to cover maternity leave within the MFL Department.  Languages are important part of the curriculum at Esher High School, and all students study both Spanish and French throughout Years 7, 8 & 9. Both subjects receive a positive intake of students at GCSE level each year, with students excelling in both areas.  In 2018, 93% of students achieved a grade 9-4 in Spanish and 85% of students achieved a grade 9-4 in French.

This post would be suitable for either an experienced teacher or an NQT.   A comprehensive induction programme is provided for all new staff and time to participate in lesson observations and learning walks.  We are committed to continued professional development e.g. access to peer coaching, termly teaching and learning group meetings and bespoke personalised training.  In addition, NQTs have weekly timetabled meetings with their mentors and regular access to their Professional Tutor.
