Saint Cecilia’s Church of England School is a successful and over-subscribed non-selective school, with an excellent reputation, located in South-west London.

We are looking for an effective teacher of Modern Foreign Languages to teach Spanish, who is looking to join a successful and dedicated team for a full academic year. Spanish is highly valued at Saint Cecilia’s, many pupils studying the subject at GCSE, and a significant proportion continuing to study at A-Level. In 2019, 78% of pupils achieved 9-4 grade in GCSE, and 35% of pupils achieved a grade 7 or above.  Students study Spanish at A-level achieved an excellent Value Added score of above +1.

Located close to Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Club, Saint Cecilia’s Church of England School is well connected to central London and the West end, as well as the tranquil Surrey country-side by exceptional transport links. Yet, still within the Inner London Weighting area, which adds a significant increase to salary.

Saint Cecilia’s is a vibrant school of approx. 950 pupils with a thriving academic Sixth Form. A caring Christian community, together with a close-knit team of dedicated teaching and support staff have achieved excellent academic success.

In 2019 the school maintained its position as one of the highest performing schools in the London Borough of Wandsworth.

At GCSE:

• overall progress 8 was +0.32

• attainment 8 was 51.4.

• 88% of pupils achieved 9-4 grades in English and 78% achieved 9-4 grades in Maths.

• 54% of pupils achieved 9-5 grades in English and Maths

• 54% of pupils achieved 9-5 grades in Religious Studies

At A Level:

• 20% of grades were A*-A

• 73% of grades were A*-B

• Many leavers gain places at prestigious Russell Group Universities, including Oxbridge.
