Job overview

 Teacher of the Deaf (ToD)

We are looking for a full-time Teacher of the Deaf from September 2018. You will join our vibrant community school which serves a richly diverse intake.

This is a chance for you to be part of our well-established and highly successful designated special provision (DSP) for deaf children, which follows an auditory/oral approach.

Whether you are an experienced ToD, a ToD in training or an excellent teacher who is committed to commencing training, we would love to hear from you.

The ToD position will involve teaching a small KS2 group of children in the DSP in the mornings, and collaborating with mainstream teachers to support deaf children’s inclusion across the school in the afternoons.

We can offer you:

  • Fabulous children
  • A supportive and friendly staff team
  • A great location in the centre of Greenwich World’s Heritage site
  • A creative and inclusive environment which values individuality and celebrates differences
  • A genuine commitment to your professional development and a chance for you to work with other qualified Teachers of the Deaf and other professionals working within deaf education.

Training will be provided for an excellent teacher committed to train on a two year part-time ToD Training Course.

We look forward to hearing from candidates who are keen to make a difference to our deaf children.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. To arrange a visit please telephone Sharon Crawford in the school office on 020 8858 3572.
