Oak Lodge School is a Good School (OFSTED 2016) with an Outstanding (OFSTED 2019) residential provision, for students aged 10-19. Oak Lodge School is approved as a mixed special school for 100 pupils with hearing impairment, speech, language and communication needs.

The Deaf First department needs an enthusiastic Teacher of the Deaf to assess students aged over 19, in further and higher education and liaise with college Learning Support teams to ensure students receive the right support throughout their courses and in exams. The role will include Line managing Communication Support Workers and Note Takers, delivering Deaf Awareness Training, and providing tutorial support, under the direction of the Head of Deaf First and the Executive Head of Oak Lodge School.
