We seek to appoint a dynamic and ambitious individual to work in our well established Travel & Business Department. The successful applicant will be passionate about inspiring our students and be a team player to work collaboratively with colleagues. The Travel department currently boosts two year 12 and two year 13 A Level classes as well as a KS4 option class. Travel and Tourism is a consistently highly choice for students at KS4 and A-level.

We are a well organised and resourced department with excellent IT provision across the school, with all students having 1:1 chromebooks and widespread use of Google apps for education and Google classroom.

The post is equally suitable for an NQT, as well as experienced teachers.  The position has a mainly Travel focus but the ability to offer some Business teaching would be very advantageous. For the right candidate, we may be able offer a part time role.  The position offers an excellent opportunity to receive support through our comprehensive NQT and CPD programme which will be delivered in conjunction with our Dacorum partners.

Main Areas of Responsibility:

To plan and prepare lessons which engage students and meet their learning needs, and to provide enriching homework

To assess students progress and develop quality feedback to help students make meaningful progress. This includes following the school’s SIR marking policy

To work as part of the Travel & Business departments to contribute towards the development of outstanding schemes of learning and teaching

To contribute to the monitoring of teaching and learning, and to track interventions as part of the school’s quality assurance cycle

To communicate effectively with parents and outside bodies, and to actively promote the school’s ethos when doing so

To represent the school’s views and interests

To liaise with the Subject Leaders in targeting interventions, including parent and carer meetings

To be part of our team of form tutors

To monitor and support the overall well-being of students, and to safeguard student well-being

To participate fully in the school’s CPD opportunities
