We are currently seeking a Teacher who can deliver Welsh as a second language to a high standard for Rydal Penrhos Senior School from September 2021.   

The Role

To be considered for this particular role, you will need to be a creative and imaginative Qualified Teacher who has previous experience in a secondary school environment. You will be a teacher who can passionately support the growth of the Welsh language as the School transitions to a day school. 

Teacher of Welsh - Role Specification

This role would require you to teach Welsh as a second language to Key Stage 3 and 4 on a part time basis, starting September 2021. In this post you will be teaching and working in collaboration with the other members of the School’s Languages, Literacy and Communications Faculty. Day-to-day, you will be broadening your knowledge and expanding your skill set through your experiences.

The successful teacher of Welsh will:

  • Have a flair for planning and delivering engaging lessons
  • Create a supportive, nurturing and fun learning environment
  • Be versatile and have strong curriculum knowledge
  • Be imaginative in finding ways to develop Welsh as a second language within the School community

Rydal Penrhos comprises Rydal Penrhos Preparatory School (2 ½ – 11) and the Senior School (11-18) and follows Maintained Schools’ salary structure. Staff are expected to contribute to the school’s full pastoral and extra-curricular programme.
