Part-Time Temporary Teacher for the 2020 School Year

The successful candidate will be a highly professional, growth-oriented practitioner with a demonstrated ability to:

  • Contribute to the collaborative culture of the school as a Professional Learning Community.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, students and parents.
  • Actively seek professional learning opportunities.
  • Assess and provide feedback on student learning.
  • Implement positive and supportive behaviour management practices.
  • Support students with additional needs.
  • Use technology effectively and creatively to support student learning
  • Support the mission, teachings and ethos of the Catholic Church’s work in schools.
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check
  • Must have full registration with NESA (with a minimum provisional or conditional accreditation status)

St Joseph’s Primary School is a Christ centred learning community immersed in the mystery of God’s presence. It is a co-educational, K-6 Catholic primary school located in the northern New South Wales town of South Grafton, in the Clarence River Valley region. The school commenced operation in 1889 and today has a total enrolment of 151 students. Staff who are willing to support the Catholic ethos and who value co-operation and the pursuit of quality education are considered asset to the school.

St Joseph’s Primary School is a modern, beautifully maintained learning environment that is rich in resources and first class facilities. The school features spacious colourful classrooms, an excellent library and a vast array of up to date technology resources supporting teaching and learning throughout the entire school. The playground is varied in nature with large, shady trees and expansive grassy playing areas intermingled with a number of paved playground quadrangles.

Curriculum

The school provides a comprehensive educational program based and taught in accordance with the NSW Board of Studies and Teaching and Educational Standards Syllabuses for Primary Education. The school features a strong commitment to the individual student and as such the curriculum provides opportunities for the attainment of academic, cultural and sporting success and achievement. Exceptionally strong programs in Music, Sport and Art are clearly evident throughout the school.
