An exciting opportunity exists for a part time (0.5FTE) primary practitioner to deliver Literacy and Numeracy specialist interventions to S1-S3 students on a temporary basis. Supporting a specific group of pupils to help raise their attainment and increase opportunities and maximise wellbeing.

Applicants are required to be fully registered in primary education with the General Teaching Council of Scotland (GTCS), Clerwood House, 96 Clerminston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates are required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

“Clear signs were emerging of an improvement in the quality of pupils’ learning in English. Relationships between staff and pupils were positive. The quality of lessons varied. Teachers mostly gave clear instructions and explained work well. Pupils generally worked well on the tasks set.”
