A vacancy exists for a fully qualified Primary Teacher at St Joseph’s Primary School, Quirindi.  This position commences on 22 July 2019.


Available as part of this position is the Religious Education Coordinator (REC) for suitably qualified and experienced applicants. In addition to your salary as a Teacher, as the REC you will receive an allowance of $7,993 gross pa.


Essential criteria of a Teacher:

  • Teaching qualifications meeting the standard for accreditation with NESA;
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the ethos of the Catholic faith and mission of the school;
  • Demonstrate a high standard of competency and proficiency in classroom practice and student management;
  • Ability to teach Religious Education;
  • Possess effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as a team member of the school and parish community;
  • Hold appropriate Religious Education qualifications (or willingness to obtain);
  • Working With Children Check Clearance.

About St Joseph’s Primary School, Quirindi

St Joseph's Primary School is a co-educational Catholic Primary School catering for students in Kindergarten through to Year 6. The school located in Glen Innes, New South Wales. There are approximately 200 students enrolled.

The school was founded by the Sisters of St Joseph of Sacred Heart in 1884 with an enrolment of 30 students, over the years the schools campus has expanded and all buildings have recently been refurbished. As an integral part of the Parish the school community shares its task of imparting Catholic traditions whilst appreciating and respecting the traditions of other Christians.

The school has integrated ICT into student learning through the use of laptops, chrome books and Apple Air Drop for smart-boards/interactive TV’s.

Curriculum

The school provides an curriculum based on the NSW syllabuses for Primary Education. The Key Learning Areas are Science and Technology, Human Society, Creative Arts, English, Maths, Personal Development, Health and Physical education. In order to meet the needs of individual students there are several improvement strategies in place. These include a Reading Tutor program and the Diocesan Learning Program for enhancing achievements in Literacy and Numeracy. The school offers a Sacramental program for students in Year 3 and Year 6.
