Full time Teacher – Special School (temporary contract to cover maternity leave).

Hob Moor Oaks Special School are seeking to recruit an outstanding full time Teacher to commence 1st January 2018 to cover a maternity of our KS1 classes for pupils with severe and moderate learning difficulties. Our school is a very successful and popular special school for Primary aged children with a wide range of special educational needs. Our last Ofsted inspection (December 2013) reported that we are a good school and we are now well on the journey to being an outstanding school.

The school is part of a unique Federation with Hob Moor Primary School. Both schools are in the same building, sharing facilities and learning opportunities. The schools will join the Ebor Academy Trust in November 2017.

Hob Moor Oaks is a well-respected Nursery to Year 6 special school. You will need a great sense of humour and the ability to develop creative strategies and ideas for maximising every child's learning and development.

The successful applicant will be:

  • A talented teacher possibly with a mainstream background or a specialist background or perhaps an excellent NQT.
  • Totally committed to and able to demonstrate excellent teaching** so that every child has the very best outcomes.
  • Able to communicate effectively with parents, carers and other professionals.
  • Have a good understanding of how children learn through play and active learning opportunities.
  • Someone with vision, creativity, drive and enthusiasm who will contribute to the continued improvement of our school.
