Teacher - Outreach, Language Centre, Murrayfield Primary School, 17.5 hours per week, fixed term until 5th January 2020, closing date 23rd June 2019

The Language centre within Murrayfield Primary School supports pupils from across the authority with speech and language delays or difficulties.

The language centre is currently staffed by a Head Teacher, a Depute Head Teacher, 1 Principal Teacher, 5 teaching staff, 2 nursery nurses and 2 Pupil Support Workers

The language centre has a in reach roll of 16 nursery pupils and 12 P1-3 pupils. The outreach service manages an extensive caseload of pupils from across the authority who present with barriers to literacy and language.

The language centre works very closely in partnership with parents/carers, schools from across the authority and other agencies to meet the needs of individuals with speech and language delay or difficulties. The language centre builds capacity across the authority through effective CLPL, partnership working and direct teaching.

A relevant teaching qualification and registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland is essential.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.  Successful candidates will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment and the cost will be met by the candidate.

The fee for a Full PVG Scheme Membership is £59 or Existing Member is £18. The £59 cost (where appropriate) will be deducted from your salary over a 1 or 3 month period by repayment schedule.  If your employment concludes before the amount is re-paid in full, the outstanding balance will be deducted from your final salary.
