Hugh Baird College is a friendly, diverse and vibrant place to work where students and the local community are at the heart of everything we do. We have an opportunity within the Foundation Studies department for an enthusiastic, dynamic individual who can provide one-to-one support as a Teaching & Care Worker.

Due to the growth of our specialist center, which is dedicated to providing a caring and supportive environment for young people with learning difficulties and/or physical disabilities, we have a an opportunity for a Teaching & Care Woker who will primarily provide one-to-one support to learner and meet the needs of supported student, during lessons and during unstructured times in college.

For this role you will be required to provide the highest standard of support to a student (on a 1-1 basis) with learning difficulties and/or disabilities enabling them to access learning opportunities to the best of their ability enabling them to access learning opportunities to the best of their ability.

You will be expereinced in working with people with differing needs/disabilities/learning difficulties within an education environment or other relevant organisation is essential together with a knowledge and understanding of the challenges and demands of working with people with differing needs/disabilities/learning difficulties – specifically those who have autism.

This is a fixed-term, full time, term time only role working 36 weeks per year.

The College is situated in metropolitan Borough of Sefton, at the heart of a very busy commercial and regeneration area.

We deliver courses across an extensive range of provisions, from apprenticeships, to T-levels, A-levels, university level courses and adult learning, with dedicated campuses and employment-focused results.

We have a purpose-built, multi-million pound University Centre and a dedicated Sixth Form Centre at our South Sefton Campus. We also have a specialist hotel school and flagship restaurant, industry-focused hubs, and a unique enterprise village with a salon, florist, café and gym. All of our exceptional facilities are enhanced with the incredible personal support we offer to every one of our students.

We have launched the L20 Hotel School where the qualifications delivered will fulfil the needs of the Liverpool City Region tourism sector and help provide well trained and job ready students to the city’s growing visitor economy.

We are also responding to the exciting SuperPort developments right on our doorstep by creating Port Academy Liverpool, which offers port operations courses that allow our learners to forge careers in this exciting, global and well paid sector.

We are continually looking to develop our facilities and this we have opened our new state-of-the-art gym and fitness centre in collaboration with Lifestyle Fitness. The centre is accessible by students and staff as well as being open to members of our local community.
