Pro-rata and term time only

30 hours per week as follows:

TA1-2 - 25 hours per week 

PLUS Midday Supervisor responsibilities - 5 hours per week

Pro-rata salary starting from £12,595 p.a.

St Mary's School, as part of the SABDEN Multi Academy Trust, is a Good all-boys SEMH Special school for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils and we are seeking to appoint a number of Teaching Assistants (1-2) into our team. We are passionate about creating a safe and supportive learning environment that fosters respect for others, develops resilience, promotes high expectations and prepares young males for successful futures.

The main responsibility of the post will be to support teachers in the delivery of the curriculum, both by directly working with pupils and assisting in preparation of resources. Both posts are varied and there will be an element of supporting our PE and Outdoor Education Teacher, therefore an interest and/or experience in this area is desirable. Applicants should be innovative, enthusiastic and flexible and have an interest and knowledge of child development and an understanding of child protection procedures.  Applicants should be able to demonstrate a sensitive and empathic approach to working with young pupils.

If successful, you will become part of a very committed and hardworking team. While some experience of working with vulnerable young people is preferable it is not essential.  We will provide you with high quality training and support.

The contract hours of working are Monday to Thursday, 08.45am to 15.10pm and Friday 08.45am to 14.30pm, term time only.
