TA1-2 - 25 hours per week  

PLUS Midday Supervisor responsibilities - 5 hours per week 

(FTE Grade 1 £17,364 to Grade 3 £18,065)

The SABDEN Multi Academy Trust provides specialised education to young people with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH). We are three special schools, a secure unit, a large countywide alternative provision and one of five teaching schools within East Sussex.

College Central, has three sites based in Eastbourne, Hastings and Bexhill-on-Sea, and provides specialised education to young people with who have been, or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream school.  We strive to discover success through learning, self-belief and achievement.  Pupils are empowered to take responsibility through a personalised curriculum supported by secure systems.

College Central, Eastbourne site is seeking to recruit a Teaching Assistant 1-2 to cover a period of maternity leave, on a 9 month fixed term contract, starting from September 2020.

 The main responsibility of the post will be to support teachers in the delivery of the curriculum, both by directly working with pupils and assisting in preparation of resources.  Applicants should be innovative, enthusiastic and flexible and have an interest and knowledge of child development and an understanding of child protection procedures.  Applicants should be able to demonstrate a sensitive and empathic approach to working with young pupils.

If successful, you will become part of a very committed and hardworking team. While some experience of working with vulnerable young people is preferable it is not essential.  We will provide you with high quality training and support.
