The Directors of the Gardener Schools Group have established Kew House School in the conviction that there exists an opportunity for a different kind of independent secondary school in London - academically demanding but with a modern approach to selection criteria, the flexibility of the curriculum and recognition of creativity and talent.
We are seeking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to assist a pupil joining Year 7 at Kew House School in September 2018 who has a diagnosis meaning that the student will increasingly need support with physically moving around the school and working practically in subjects such as Science, Food technology and DT. The successful candidate will also need to work closely with the student’s Occupational Therapist to ensure that his daily stretching exercises are completed. This is a full time position term time plus staff training days. Working hours are 8.00 to 4.15pm, Monday - Friday.
The successful applicant will be joining a hardworking and friendly team dedicated to providing the best possible standard of education to all pupils at this school. You will be expected to develop professionally and be given access to training to enable you to do so. You will be required to attend review meetings and department meetings. There will be a need to respect confidentiality at all times. The post may suit a gap year student.
• Educated to at least A level equivalent
• Experience of working with children and young people, preferably in an education setting
• Ability to use initiative and discretion in personal relationships
• Good administrative and organisational skills
