Finham Park School is the Lead School in the recently established Finham Park Multi Academy Trust. Primary and secondary schools in Finham Park MAT will set out to pioneer, innovate and deliver a “World Class” education for all.

Finham Park School was judged as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in 2015, for the second time. It is a Specialist College in Mathematics & Computing, a National Support School, and Leading Edge School. It is highly over-subscribed with a Sixth Form of over 300 students. We have recently become a “World Class” school – a place where all our students develop a love of “learning for life”.

The Governors are seeking to appoint a professional and enthusiastic permanent Teaching Assistant who will work alongside teachers, providing valuable support for Teaching and Learning activities, and eventually develop their own initiatives. The successful candidate will provide support in lessons but will also mentor students and teach small groups having the potential to help students through some of the most difficult stages of their education and lives. They will also use specialist knowledge for planning lessons and developing support materials, and provide care and supervision to young people.

The role will work across all subjects and year groups but the successful candidate will also have

the opportunity to work with students of all abilities. The role will need to develop relationships

with these students to maximize their learning potential over their school career.

Finham Park is a popular and successful 11 -18 comprehensive school situated in the south west of Coventry. It has an excellent reputation within the local community as well as nationally and internationally. The school was re-accredited as a World Class School in July 2018.

Ofsted described the school as a place where there is a strong culture of learning and a proven track record of academic success, with students consistently making above average levels of progress in their studies in both Key Stages 4 and 5. The behaviour of the students is Outstanding.

Their eagerness for learning allows our teachers to deliver stimulating and innovative lessons that result in rapid progress. There is a clear focus on the development of teaching and learning through engagement in national research programmes with a strong structure of support at all levels. In addition, there is personalised programme of professional development and extensive opportunities for career progression.

The school is well resourced. New technologies are widely available and are helping to transform teaching and learning across a diverse range of subjects. In addition, ongoing investment has been made to the whole site - recently by upgrading science laboratories, STEM workrooms and the construction of a sixth form centre.
