Parkside Federation Academies is a multi-academy trust based in Cambridge which operates three Secondary schools, an International Sixth Form and a specialist Science and Technology 13-19 Academy.

We have high expectations of all our students and aim to provide them with the best teaching and support that a dedicated staff can offer.  We are both demanding and liberal and want our students to develop into articulate and confident young people with clear personal and professional goals.

Our multi-academy trust is growing so we are looking for people to work with us who will share our commitment to excellence, innovation and collaboration.

We are currently recruiting for two positions based at  Cambridge Academy for Science and Technology (CAST).

CAST is an educational establishment that, as a University Technical College, provides opportunities unlike any other for the scientists and technologists of the future. Situated in the heart of the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, near Addenbrookes Hospital, it is surrounded by world leading academic and commercial organisations.

There are two TA roles available:

Level 3 TA - Curriculum

This is a very exciting role for someone with a passion for science to actively participate in the delivery of our innovative science based Curriculum. There will be two aspects to the role. Firstly to support students who require additional support in accessing the curriculum, and secondly to deliver pre-prepared lessons to students when a teacher is absent.

Level 3 TA -  Wider Curriculum

There will be two aspects to the role. Firstly to deliver and develop the innovative and exciting wider curriculum and secondly to support students who require additional support in accessing that wider curriculum.

The Wider Curriculum takes students beyond the traditional school curriculum to prepare them for the world of work and beyond.  There are four main aspects to the Wider Curriculum - Challenge Projects, Careers Guidance, Wider Curriculum Days and extracurricular activities.

All students spend a day a week working on extended ‘real world’ STEM based projects (Challenge Projects) designed and delivered in conjunction with partners from industry and academia, These allow students to take their science learning beyond the classroom and at the same time learn employability skills.

A background in science is highly desirable for both posts

About United Learning Cambridge Cluster

United Learning is a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.

Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resources, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

The Cambridge cluster of United Learning comprises: three secondary schools - Coleridge, Parkside and Trumpington; The Galfrid, a primary school; and Cambridge Academy for Science and Technology, a specialist 13-19 academy. We work closely together to realise our goal of ensuring the best possible education for our students.

Staff collaborate across the cluster to ensure the schools bring out the best in everyone. We have a shared team of support staff with a focus on delivering excellent services. Our community benefits from access to specialist facilities across the schools, while our combined extra curricular offer promotes our commitment to education with character.

Our staff tell us that they think our cluster provides a great community to work in and to develop their career - within the wider United Learning group we aim to offer you unrivalled professional development and the opportunity to work as part of a team where your contribution is really valued.
