This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of the SEND team in supporting young people with a range of learning, social, emotional and physical needs in a variety of curriculum areas. This role is a 1:1 support for a young person who is new to our school and will be requiring a level of personal care. It is essential to develop an understanding of their needs and apply a positive approach to encourage them to successfully access the curriculum.
To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to be passionate about working with young people with SEND and have a growth-mind set. It is also important to recognise that this role is developing and will evolve with the needs of our learners. This will include working with the SEND team to support whole class activities, small group work and other 1:1 interventions as directed. The ideal candidate will be educated to GCSE standard in English and Maths as well as committed to enabling our young people to achieve their full potential. The candidate must have excellent communication skills, be able to use their initiative in dealing with situations effectively, have the ability to work as a team member, be calm and consistent in their approach whilst showing patience, empathy and a caring attitude.
