Hours: 37.5 hours (Post 1), 32.5 hours (post 2) per week 

South Harringay School is a two form mainstream nursery, infant and junior school in the heart of Haringey. The school has a committed and enthusiastic team across its staff and governors who are always keen to welcome new members.

We are looking for two inspiring and talented Teaching assistants to work initially within the Infant school. One post will be to support pupils across Key Stage One and the other post will be initially to support an autistic pupil within a Reception Class.

You will be enthusiastic, have great interpersonal skills, enjoy working as part of a team and want the very best for our students. The successful candidate will have good literacy and numeracy skills and will be able to communicate effectively with children and parents.

The successful candidates will be required to:

  • Support teachers' delivery of the national curriculum/ EYFS      curriculum  and contribute to the      development of other support staff, students, and school policies and      strategies
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and assist teachers in the      whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources when      supporting classes as a teaching assistant
  • Provide support for pupils, the teacher and the school in order to      raise standards of achievement for all students, by utilising advanced      levels of knowledge and skills when assisting with planning, monitoring,      assessing and managing classes
  • Deliver interventions to support pupils with additional needs
  • Encourage pupils to become independent learners
  • Provide support for pupil’s welfare, and to support the inclusion      of pupils in all aspects of school life
