Are you a skilled teaching assistant seeking a new challenge, or someone with an interest in becoming a teaching assistant?
At City of London Academy Islington we aim to provide an exceptional level of care and education for every individual student. The Academy, which opened in September 2008, is a mixed, non-selective Academy, with no religious affiliation, committed to providing excellence in education and opportunities for all.
In our Ofsted inspection report in March 2019 we have been rated outstanding in every category; personal development and behaviour, teaching and learning, outcomes and leadership and management. We have been graded outstanding overall. This inspection and our results reflect the aspiration, determination and hard work by all students and staff at the Academy and we are always exceptionally proud of what we achieve together.
City of London Academy Islington is driven by ambition: to deliver world-class results as we combine the heritage and tradition of the City of London with creativity and innovation. We have a proven track record of school improvement, offering students an exciting curriculum and opportunities to perform, showcase their talents and experience the world of work outside of the classroom.
We can offer you:
- Students who are eager to learn, well behaved and very proud of their school;
- Exceptional focus on continuous professional development
- A culture of high expectations for students and staff
- An appetite for creativity and continuous improvement
- A dedicated, caring and experienced staff team
- Purpose built teaching and learning facilities
- A supportive and committed Governing Body
From you, we need:
We believe exceptional teaching assistants play a crucial role in the delivery of teaching and learning in our Academy and student attainment.
We believe that support team members within our school should be supported too, with all the opportunities needed to develop and achieve their goals.
This is an exciting time in the school’s journey to sustain and develop further as an excellent provider of high-quality education.
We are looking for a highly skilled and knowledgeable candidate who wants to work in a role where there is ample opportunity to apply their learning and development support expertise and skills within a secondary school environment and who would like to develop their skills further through the opportunity to mentor other teaching and learning support professionals.
Ideally, you will have a Level 2 or 3 award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools and previous experience of supporting students in a secondary educational setting, but we will consider applications from candidates without previous experience who have the capacity and willingness to learn on the job.
You will be working within a team whose mission it is to sustain and further develop excellence in everything we do.
