Priory Education and Children’s Services is a leading company in the UK. With over 100 high quality schools, colleges and homes we focus on making a real and lasting difference for everyone we support.

Our Sketchley School sites provide specialist education for young people aged 8-19 with high functioning autism. Pupils may also have challenging behaviour as a result of their communication difficulties and a lack of social understanding.

Our youngest students are based at Sketchley Hall, located in Burbage, then transfer onto Forest House, Narborough to access GCSEs and work experience. This is followed by a move to our Post 16 site, Progression House in Hinckley, where students have the opportunity to begin college courses or work placements with full support from our staff.

To join us as a Teaching Assistant, you will have the ability to support student’s academic learning in an autism friendly way, as well as supporting wider behavioural and emotional needs.

You will also:

  • Share our passion for high aspiration and achievement for all
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Have a good knowledge of autism and/or experience of working with young people on the autistic spectrum
  • Be highly organised, adaptable and enthusiastic.

You must hold a full driving licence as part of your role may include working off site with students engaging in curriculum activities, using school vehicles.

At Progression House, you will be required to have access to your own vehicle, in order to transport the student you are working with to their college placement.  In this instance business insurance and evidence of vehicle upkeep will be necessary.

In return, you will join a supportive and experienced team, and have every opportunity to develop the role.
