About Beverley High School
Beverley High School is a girls-only, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Norwood, East Yorkshire. It is a community state school and works in partnership with Beverley Grammar School for boys to provide a mixed sixth form, with students dividing their time equally between the two sites.
A smaller than average secondary school, it provides 950 places for secondary and sixth-form students aged 11-18 when fully subscribed. Beverley High School was founded in 1908 and, since 1973, has developed from a grammar school into a fully comprehensive school.

Values and vision
The Beverley motto is “inspiring individuals with a love of learning”. Its many ambitions include developing its students into independent, happy and successful individuals who can make a positive contribution to society, and valuing and encouraging students to make sure their time at the school is filled with memorable and valuable experiences.
Well-equipped with high-quality facilities, the secondary school has a new school sports hall that opened in September 2006 and an art and technology centre that opened in September 2008.
Ofsted report
“Students make excellent progress throughout Key Stages 3 and 4 because the school has focused relentlessly on raising achievement since the last inspection. Students achieve standards that are well above average and are continuing to rise in many subjects. Students’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural understanding is promoted exceptionally well through the curriculum and through daily routines. Students feel safe and know how to keep themselves safe.”
