We are inviting applications for the post of an efficient, committed and experienced HLTA with a focus on the  Personal Development and Employability of our students supporting the development of students working tracking and managing individual, personalised accredited and vocational learning routes. 

The post holder will be expected to meet the job description and person specification for a TA4 who will work with senior leaders, pupils, parents, teachers, external stakeholders including local employers andwork experience providers to establish, support and monitor work placements. The post holder will also work with teachers to plan, supervise and monitor the personal development and employability skills of students so that young people leave the school with a personal portfolio of meaningful and relevant experience and skills. 

Pioneer House High School is a school with a unique focus in preparing pupils from age 11 to become independent and productive young adults. Our pupils, all of whom have severe learning difficulties.  Through our engaging applied learning curriculum focus, carefully structured programmes and highly effective teachers Pioneer House provides an outstanding and stimulating educational experience for every student. The rapid growth of this innovative school will offer the post holders ample opportunities for skill development and progression over the next few years through training and support.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to  make a difference by engaging in activities that are designed to enhance the employability skills of pupils and support their personal development. They will also believe that economic disadvantage is a compelling reason to raise expectations rather than a reason to lower them and will do everything in their power to help our students achieve their full potential.

The Teaching Assistants will be key workers for their cohort, basing themselves in class and supporting learning. The candidate will be the main point of contact for home and will work with the tutor to provide full pastoral support for attendance, behaviour, welfare and personal development.

The role is full time, term-time only, plus five additional training days. The starting annual salary is £22,726 based on 39 weeks and pro rata hours. The full time equivalent is £26,511.
