NJC Scale 3 £17,681 - £18,672 pro rata  (actual £7,744 - £8,178) 

18.24 hours per week - 3 days per week, 8:25 am to 3:15 pm (45 minute unpaid lunch) 

Term time only - 46.2 weeks per year  

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Department   

Commencing: December 2018

The SEND department at Hove Park School is looking to appoint experienced Teaching Assistants with relevant experience in supporting students with a range of needs including: Autistic Spectrum Condition, Speech and Language needs, SpLD (Dyslexia/Dyspraxia) and English as an Additional Language (EAL).  We operate a system of key workers, where a member of the team has a small group of students for whom they are the main SEND point of contact and we try to get to know the whole student and establish a positive, productive working relationship.   The person appointed will truly believe that SEND is not a barrier to progress and that all young people can succeed.  In return, we offer a vibrant environment in which to work and opportunities for professional development.  Particularly desirable is, experience of managing medical needs, an ability to respond positively to challenging behaviour and, an ability to speak another language.

Working at Hove Park School

We are keen to recruit ambitious, self-motivated staff to help us become a nationally recognized centre of excellence, which puts achievement first for every student.

Hove Park School is located on two sites. The Valley Campus is for years 7 to 8 and Sixth Form, and Nevill Campus is for years 9 to 11. Some of our staff base themselves on one campus, and some choose to commute. The opportunity is there for staff to choose which route to take, and staff are able to change where they are based every academic year, should they wish to.

The pastoral life of the school is very important, so most teachers have their own tutor group. We operate in Year Teams, but we have Houses that we use for Sports Day and other competitions.

We have a personalized CPD programme that includes timetabled CPD sessions with colleagues from across the school. You will be keen to make the most of these opportunities, keen to learn and keen to share your learning with others.
