King's Infant School, Elche, is seeking to appoint a part-time teaching assistant to join our dynamic team. We are a small, one form-entry school with almost 60 children from pre-nursery to Year 3. This post is working in our pre-nursery class of 12 children.
The successful post holder would need experience of working with children and supporting the teacher to set-up the environment, lead Key Groups of children and update the children’s electronic learning journeys using an iPad (provided) and the Tapestry Learning Journal app.

King´s Infant School, Elche is opening as a result of the success of King´s College, Alicante and to meet the demand of residents from Elche and its environs, for a high quality British education.
King´s Infant School, Elche (KISE) will act primarily as a feeder school for its sister school King´s College, Alicante. Pupils at the end of Key Stage 1 (Year 2) will naturally progress to Key Stage 2 (Year 3) at King´s College Alicante (dependent upon satisfactorily meeting the same requirements as KCA pupils in terms of accessing the curriculum and behavioural reports).
In the first year of operation, KISE will admit pupils from Pre Nursery (18 months) to Year 1; thereafter, the school will admit pupils up to Y2.
King’s Infant School, The British School of Elche is a dedicated Infant School offering a British education to approximately 200 pupils from the age of 2 (Pre-Nursery) to 7 years old (Year 2). The school is due to open its doors in September 2017 and will boast a wide range of onsite facilities for our young learners.
All classrooms will be fitted with interactive whiteboards and there are computers in all Primary classrooms. Pupils will also have access to a full digital learning programme, including iPADS to encourage the pupils creativity on these digital platforms.
Our school has been specifically designed to offer a safe, spacious and creative learning environment. Like all King’s College schools our focus for learning is to offer our pupils an environment that will enthuse and stimulate, through a diverse and engaging curriculum.
School Curriculum
King’s College offers a British curriculum alongside, for Spanish pupils, obligatory parts of the Spanish curriculum. As well as a full range of National Curriculum subjects, pupils from Year 1 also study Spanish Language, with the addition of Valencian, Spanish and Geography from Year 2 until Year 11.
The Early Years Department, consisting of Nursery and Reception, follows the EYFS curriculum. The National Curriculum is taught throughout Key Stages 1, 2 and 3. In Key Stage 4 pupils study for I/GCSEs, and go on to study for A Levels in Years 12 and 13. Those pupils who wish to go on to higher education in Spain follow an additional programme of Complementary Studies in Spanish, to fully prepare them for courses at Spanish universities.
Music, Drama and Dance form an important part of the extra-curricular programme and throughout the school year there are shows, recitals and concerts. Our Musical Productions are highly acclaimed in the area.
Sports play an integral role at the school and pupils are encouraged to take part in tournaments and local competitive events, in addition to their normal PE classes. Several of our pupils hold ´elite sportsman´status in a variety of disciplines and some have received full Sports Colours for their achievements.
Our Staff
All National Curriculum teachers at King’s College schools are native British and/or British trained. We hire teachers who are passionate about their subject, who take pleasure in seeing their pupils develop and who are dedicated in their role. We also employ highly qualified native language specialists and a range of Classroom Assistants and Erasmus students.High priority is afforded to keeping teaching staff up to date with UK educational developments, through training sessions, extensive CPD opportunities and an annual Professional Development Conference .
Our Pupils
Our pupils are expected to work hard, take academia very seriously, and strive for their best results. They are also expected to play a full role in the life of the school available to them, taking advantage of the wide range of activities, particularly in the fields of performing arts and sports.
The school has a thriving and competitive House system, and pupils are encouraged to get involved in the many house competitions during the year, which include academic and sport activities, as well as public performances.
Many pupils travel to school on one of our (award winning) school buses, some have long journeys. This makes it all the more important that we work hard to provide a warm and welcoming environment for our pupils and their families.

At King’s College Alicante, we take pride in all our pupils´ achievements. The end result of what we do in school daily, is to prepare children to become confident and able young adults, most of whom go onto further success at university and in the wider world. Safeguarding Children King´s College Alicante is committed to the safe keeping, protection and nurturing of children, with respect for their wishes and feelings. We will therefore:
