Teaching Assistant
We require teaching assistants to support students with special educational needs in a variety of subject areas throughout the school. You should have excellent literacy, numeracy and interpersonal skills, evidence of effective working with young people and high expectations for pupil’s achievements. Previous manual handling training/experience and personal care are an advantage.
Please include in your application if you would like to be considered for a full-time or a part-time role. The part-time role will be for the same number of hours each day as stated above but for less days per week.
These roles are due to start as soon as possible. These are fixed term contracts in the first instance until 31st August 2020
About the College
Penryn College is a lively thriving college with an excellent reputation who cater for boys and girls aged between 11 and 16 years with a current number on roll of 1145 and we pride ourselves on offering the very best for our students.
Our modern school building, has a great range of resources, including an information rich environment, state of the art sporting facilities including a 6 badminton court size sports hall, the latest generation astro turf pitch, our own climbing wall and iPad’s for all students and staff.
Our College buildings and 10 acres of grounds are used extensively by the community for sporting activities, performances and fund raising activities. Our unique relationship with surrounding primary schools - known as the "Penryn Partnership" - helps primary children to settle in to the college whilst adjusting to their new environment.

About Penryn College
Penryn College is a co-educational secondary school for children aged 11-16 and primarily serves the population of Penryn town and the surrounding villages in Cornwall. The college was designated a Sports College in 1998; a Leading Edge school in 2004; and a high-performing specialist college in 2006. In July 2011, it became an Academy.
Penryn College’s original site was in Falmouth, where it opened in 1957. It moved to its present site in 1961 and has since benefitted from a programme of continuous development, culminating in 2008 in the opening of its £24m new College building.
The College was Cornwall's 'Building Schools for the Future' pathfinder, and raised an additional £1.4 million to provide community sports facilities.
A large range of activities run before school, during lunchtimes and after school. There is also a 'Schools on Saturday’ programme for students and members of the community to attend, with a host of sporting, creative and academic activities.
