Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new special school, part of the Unity Schools Partnership multi-academy trust, which opened in September 2020.

At this exciting time for the school, we are looking for individuals with a passion for SEN to join our team and make an impact on the learning of our students. The successful applicant will need to be able to work flexibly, have excellent behaviour management skills and be prepared to assist pupils on a one to one basis as well as in small groups and whole class settings.

Sir Bobby Robson School educates young people between the ages of 8-16 who have a wide range of social, emotional and mental health needs. Many of the pupils will also be on the Autistic Spectrum. The school serves a catchment area that covers Ipswich and surrounding areas of Suffolk.

The school will be part of a collaborative, forward thinking Academy Trust of 32 schools. The school will also be adding to our network of special schools, alongside The Bridge School, Ipswich, Sir Peter Hall School, Bury St Edmunds and Churchill Special School, Haverhill. In addition to this, we have been approved to open a new special school in Romford. You will be supported in your role by experienced special education leaders who will be available to offer and advice and guidance as the school moves forward under your leadership.

For more information or for an informal discussion about the role please contact the Headteacher at: head@sbrschool.co.uk
